What are Flowcharts?
Flowcharts are used in IF to present the overall flow of the game from start to finish. Flowcharts include rooms, loops, event triggers, characters, etc. This step of IF prototyping is important because it allows us to visualize the underlying systems that carry the final game.
If we think of the IF prototype in anatomical terms, the overhead map is like the muscles and skeleton and the flowchart is the blood that courses through its veins from one organ to the next. Developing a strong flowchart is the next step in bringing your creation to life, so be sure to take your time with it.
